Default Help on aftermarket audio wiring

Ok so I bought my 350z without a head unit but all the wires and sub wires are ready for a new head unit. I just have to match the wires with the correct ones that are already there.
So this is like impossible to explain so I'm going to try to explain it with pictures.
In the first picture you can see the rca cables and to the left of that is where I get confused. The gray&gray/black wires go from the harness and are connected to the other speaker wires? But this leaves me with no where to connect the gray&gray/black wires that come out of the back of my head unit.

Also where do I plug the two sets of purple wires and two sets of green wires that come out of my head unit if there are two sets of them. I dont do a triple wire connection do I?

In the second picture your can see there are purple and green wires coming out of on of the harnesses, but also another set of them coming from what looks like the speakers themselves. I started hooking the purple and green wires up to the corresponding colors coming out of the harness, not that long blue one that also has purple and green wires coming out of it. So which ones do I use?

Im super confused. If anybody can make any kind of sense out of what I just said and can identify my issue, which is probably super simple--i just cant explain it--i'd appreciate it!

In the third picture you can see where I started my connections. And where i connected the purple and green wires.(Not knowing if this is where I should connect them or not)
But as you can see the gray wires coming out of my head unit have no where to go. Because they are already connected off to the right to other speaker wires.

Is the harness that I plugged my green and purple wires to like the factory bose one and I need to plug them into my aftermarket amp wires?

And also this black wire in the last picture coming out of the car. He has it splitting off into a black and a white wire. Should i just cut off before where he made the split because I thought that was the ground wire?

Sorry guys, wish i could explain this better..

When you have double set of same color wires that indicates high and low out put / gain sets . Meaning if you are running the wires through an exterior /amp you would use the low output wires, if not the the high output wires.

Ok. I'm running an amp so I should be using those sets of purple and green wires and not the ones I have them hooked up to now. So do I even need that harness plugged in there with the purple and green wires, blue/white one and the black? I can just take that one out right?

what amp are you running?. are you trying to use your headunit with the stock amp wiring or you are using an aftermarket amp?

it is kind of hard to understand exactly what the problem is. Now it looks like your Headunit has RCA connections to the back of your amp for speaker connections. Your wire harness (the one that plugs into the stock white plugs) also will have speaker connections but you will not need those in your case. The harness will have those wires for poeple using them without external speakers so they can get connection to the stock amp. In fact most of the wires on the harness will be left unused. The gray and gray black wires are for right front speakers (+ve and -ve). Again since you have rca speaker lines, you do not need those. The green wire is also a speaker wire and in most cases purple will be for rear view camera if you plan to install one.

Ok so the gray and gray black wires that come directly out of my amp should go directly to my head unit wires? Because the way they are now, the gray and gray black wires that come from my amp go to the white harness first. Ill show pictures and explain.

Alright in the first picture I unplugged the RCA's+ a skinny blue wire (which im assuming is the remote) and unplugged the antenna and put them up and out of the way. At the very bottom those are all wires I havent used yet. (consisting of the gray, grayblack, white, whiteblack, blue, and brown)
You can see I matched up the colors on the harness, yellow-yellow,red-red, orange-orange.

This is where it gets tricky. Coming directly from my amp are the green, greenblack, rca cables, gray, grayblack, white, whiteblack. The purple and purple black werent plugged into anything as you can see in the second picture. So do I need to clip the gray, grayblack, white, and whiteblack, from the harness and plug it directly to my head unit wires that match those colors?
And do I need to plug in the purple and purpleblack into one of the channels in the amp. Maybe the same one as the white and whiteblack one. Or put it on a 3rd channel?

Also i removed the other harness with speaker wires as you said I wouldnt need them because im running external speakers which makes sense.

I was able to get sound coming out of the left front and left rear for a little bit and it sounded good, but then it stopped working when i moved the unit a certain way. But i dont even think i can get the amp to turn on. Unless it turns on without any lights or anything. it has 2 blue wires coming out of the REM area on the amp for remote, but one goes somewhere i cant see and one follows the rca cable to the front. Ive tried to attach them both to the red wires and do like a triple connection between the head unit the red wire on the harness and the blue remote wire. If i could get the amp to turn on im sure i could solve my problems by process of elimination, and just test each one to see which wire goes with which speaker.

Any suggestions?

Ok so did the prevoius owner run new speaker wires or used the existing stock ones?. Did your car originally have bose?. answers to these would help. in any case here is how it works:
Your amp will take a source from your headunit. Then the amplified signal will then be transfered to your speakers. The back of your amp should label clearly where all these
connections are. If speaker wires were run then you need to identify them and connect them accordingly. If your car had Bose setup then it get more complicated because the speaker wires from the car harness go to an amp in the trunk which then sends connections to the speakers. If your car originally did not have Bose, then the speaker wires you see on the car harness go to the speakers so you have to identify them and connect to the right wires from your amp. I will be able to locate the link to help you identify the colors in the car harness when i get home from work.

Thanks man! I appreciate it. So ive got the front left and back left speaker working. But i noticed my engine service light came on after i hooked it all up and started the car. I dont want to ruin anything lol. But yes to answer your question it did have bose. But theres no sub in the bose sub spot and im not sure if he used the bose amp or not. Unless it must be used? And it looks like he used his own wiring for the most part. Im upgrading head units anyways to a nice one so i might just have someone i know who is good with this stuff do it for me, and ill just watch, and take in all the info. Ha.
