Default Need Help with Subwoofer Wiring

Hey guys, new to the forum and new to the 350Z. I recently bought a 2006 350Z and I am looking to purchase and install a new sound system first thing. It's been a long time since I've put a system in any of my vehicles and I need some advice on wiring my subwoofers. The amplifier I'll be using is a Pioneer GM-D9601 Class D mono with 2 speaker outputs and the subs are still undetermined but will definitely be dual 4-ohm. I have included a schematic below that I created based off some other ones I found from a certain well known audio company . I need to know if this will work and if not I need advice on how to get them connected with a final impedance of 1-ohm. Thanks in advance for all your help guys!

And here I am thinking you wanted to know where the red wire and blue wire connect to on an amp.

This is way out of my leage, good luck OP!

Can that amp handle 1 ohm? If so do this...

http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/wo...2&I=42#results

You will only use one + and one - on your amp.

@ 07maximan:

Thanks for the link!

Correct me if I am wrong but would that method in the link provided not be basically the same with the exception of the load from the two subs being reduced via the internal bridge of the two amplifier outputs versus externally? See modified diagram below.

so with two subs you have 4 (4) ohm coils and you want a 1ohm result to match the amp output?

Put all 4 in parallel.

4||4 is r1*r2/(r1+r2) which is 16/8 = 2
2||2 is r1*r2/(r1+r2) which is 4/4 = 1

so connect all the plus together and then connect all the minus together. Measure resistance with multimeter.

Correct, I will be connecting two dual 4-ohm subwoofers for a final impedance that the amp sees to be 1-ohm. I am however trying to do so in a way that each sub goes to it's own output on the amp (two sets of outputs bridged in parallel internally) to reduce the amount of wires connected to a single terminal.

The setup in the picture is correct. Since they are DVC you can connect both terminals together on the subs then connect the now linked terminals the way depicted in the first photo. This is nothing special unless going down to 1 ohm. Which wouldn't be necessary.

Thanks guys. Got it all in this past weekend. Now I just have to get my amplifier gains set correctly.
