I knew people were having problems with the remotes so it wasn't really that big of a surprise this morning when I couldn't turn off my alarm but it still sucked a$$.

the alarm was blaring while I kept trying to remember the damned manual override code.... argh!!! made me late for work and pissed off my neighbors... sorry just venting

 

Those remotes arn't cheap either, over $100

Have you had the remote for less than a year? I believe the remotes are warrantied for 1 year!

 

yeah, less than a year. my shop said that he's been getting tons of calls and the manufacturer is accepting all remotes back for free replacement (DEI)

 

hmm, I just got my 690 last month, I hope it doesn't go out. One thing I did notice is the dang remote sucks the crap out of a AAA battery.

 

yeah, I go through batteries pretty quick. the remote didn't give any indication that it was going to just die... it just stopped working one morning.

 

The exact same thing happened to me with my Viper 790 remote. I took it back to my installer and he told me there was some sort of recall going on with it. He took it back and gave me an upgrade to the clifford remote for FREE, no questions asked.
