but believe me i tried to mount the avh but there was not enough holes. your dash kit is great cause you dont have to push yours out like the 04. I like how it concaves at the edges. But on the 04 if you push the stereo out the factory holes wont match to anything on the stereo.

No, I JUST picked up the 06 kit. It hasn't even been delivered yet. What I currently have in there (and what I'm complaining about) is the Metra 99-7402 kit for 03-05.

If I have to get the Scosche kit as well then so be it. something has to fit better than the metra kit.

Hey...thought I'd check back in after my appointment with the installer...
(and am happy to report that (...at least in my case), what was posted by travlee & Cj is true)...

- The Metra kit (99-7402) fit surprisingly well in my '04....(although it should be noted that the only thing used from the kit was the single/double din cover plate w/the center bar removed) also.....

- My installer re-used the factory metal "ears" (which had to be re-drilled...)

However...the "adjustment" process took about 2 1/2 hours...(and much like what CJ posted earlier)...the motorized screen was really finicky in it's placement....requiring a fair amount of tension adjustment so it wouldn't hit the AC control module or be "stretched" by the factory mounting screws....
(...there was however, lots of cussing...and the car bit him more than a few times which actually resulted in blood loss )

Anyway...I will post some photos either today or tomorrow...and will answer any questions should anyone have any...

Yeah, the only thing I'm using from the kit is the bezel and the side spacers. I have a feeling I'm going to have to re-drill my mount brackets as well (and sand the sides of the bezel as well)

ok, I just got the new mounting kit in the mail today and haven't tried swapping them out yet, but this kit is just much better quality than the Metra kit could hope to be. It includes plastic replacement brackets with slots instead of holes to allow for adjustment of the head unit. I'm going to try swapping them out tomorrow morning. I'll post back and let you guys know if this 06 kit works for my 04.

Well, this kit doesn't fit my 04. The bezel pieces are like 1/8" too tall, however, XScorpion does make a kit for 03-05, which I have ordered. If anyone needs a DD kit for 06-08, let me know, I'll pass it on for free.

Heh, that was my first thought, but the new ears are specifically for the bezel that came with it. Each ear has 2 tabs that line up with the back of the bezel and they don't have the crappy little pinhole-tab-thingies like the other bezel.
