Arrow PAC-OEM vs Scosche SLC4

After 5 years of ownership I am finally upgrading my head unit. I had purchased a used PAC-OEM some time ago in anticipation of the upgrade but my order from Crutchfield includes a Scosche SLC4. So my questions are:

- do both of these units serve the same purpose?

- if so, which should I use?

I am only replacing the Bose head unit.

Apparently the PAC OEM thing is for replacing the HU but keeping the Bose amp. That's my setup and I used PAC OEM to make it all work. I'm not sure about Scosche because it might be for using an aftermarket amp with a Bose HU. Go with PAC OEM just to be safe.

Moral of the story: F Bose up the as*

That's what I ended up doing. Worked great until the amp started cutting out. Did the Bose amp fix and now I'm golden...for now at least
