I am going to. You can put the antenna on the strut bar.

I was going to put it on the side where it is plastic. Personally, I would rather have it inside. It's pretty small. They are designed to go outside though. Either place won't be a problem.

One of those XM companies is having troubles staying afloat... be careful, you may end up with the beta-max of car stereos in a year or two...

XM is OK. It is Sirius that is having trouble.

Ya, that's the one. Could be reflective of the industry...

I think that the technology is solid. Even if the companies go under, the birds are still up. Someone can buy the equipment for pennies on the dollar and keep it going.

I use a MYFI in the Roadster. The antenna can be permamently installed by running the wire out of the center console and mounting the antenna right at the base of the windshield. Push the antenna connector thru one of the already available holes in the cubby and keep the MYFI in there. Of course you'll need an extra antenna if you use it other places.

How do I know if my 05' Touring w/BOSE is XM ready? I am looking at an I-pod kit from a Z parts dealer.

Thanks.

I put mine on the dash right behind the cluster gauges. I've had it in for about 3 1/2 months with no problems. You cant even tell its there. Its by far the easiest place to put it.

I have an aftermarket SIRIUS reciever in my car. I just put the antenna in the roof, it doesn't look bad at all. I have enclosed a pic of the unit, it is the siver deck underneath my flip out reciever. I couldn't find any pics of the antenna on my car, but it honestly doesn't look bad at all.

I have an XM Roady XT installed in the center console cubby - antenna is on the strut bar and I get pretty good reception.

I wouldn't recommend putting the antenna on the roof, it works just fine inside your dash at the base of your windshield as fresnel said. I Just got a Pioneer AVH P6800DVD - DVD changer with LCD monitor and I'm putting in XM tomorrow. I'm going to put the antenna there.

Just put a Sirius sportster Replay in mine and the antenna works great on the strut bar with a small piece of velcro underneath it. Unless you are a huge baseball fan, go with Sirius. Stern, football, NCAA basketball and NASCAR in addition to the music.
