I am plainning to mount an xtant amp either behind or underneath the glove box behind the passenger seat. I know the fuel tank is underneath that area and it probably is not a good idea to drill holes. Despite searching on this topic, I have not figured out what people have done to mount an amp.

Is it possible to use short screws? Or am I better off mounting the amp with brackets and attaching the brackets to the sides? Any pictures or advice would be appreciated.

 

My sound shop installed a large Eclipse amp in the box behind the passenger seat. They said they did not want to go in the "secret compartment" space because it would not get enough air around it. Plus it was probably to big anyway.
