Default Nav door stuck after stereo swap

I replaced the stock Bose stereo with a reconditioned unit following a DIY with no problems EXCEPT...

In order to remove the center console you have to disconnect the GPS control panel.

When re-assembling the console the Nav door did not open after power was applied, probably because the GPS control panel was not connected. There was no way I could see to reinstall it without opening the door.

Tried connecting the control panel (off to the side) to get the door to open but no luck.

With the control panel connected the GPS system is on and operating normally behind the door.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

BTW, failing some kind of a reset solution, how would I manually retract the door without damaging the drive?

The control panel doesn't interfere with the operation of the door. Make sure the plug and ribbon cable for the door are still attached/undamaged.

The door has a button on the front that releases it and then springs retract it up. There's nothing electrical about it other than when it opens it turns the system on. I've had mine off half a dozen times now and have no issues.

This is true for base models, not NAV models.

Notice the small motor on the NAV lid? Like I said, base is spring loaded, NAV is electric.

Cash, does your lid close automatically when you push the button?

Nope. And yes, nav is factory. I'd love for it to be electric. Means it would stay in place better than it does now. I really need to quit being a lazy jackass and adjust the latch on that thing.
