Cost for audio setup.
Oh, I see. I searched for Precision Power over the internet and there are quite a range of amps out there.
What PPI amps are you running? Any recommendations for which PPI amps will fit my system better?
So far, I've been thinking about getting Diamond HEX S600S for my front speakers, some affordable speakers for rear, and 2 amp setup. (1 for speakers, 1 for subs) I am still undecided about rear speakers tho. ($100-200 range maybe?)

I'm running a PPI PCX-2125 for the sub and that's the only amp in my setup. The interior speakers are running from the HU.
onecoolee - I'm in Silver Spring. We should meet up, you're the one who gave me and thus FBlade1 the idea to do the sub install in that area. Granted, I was too scared to do the fibreglassing myself like you did! I don't drive the Z during the winter. I have the camry for that, but the roads are kinda clearing so I've taken her out twice now. By the time the Evolution meet in VA comes, the roads should be clean.

Sean,
I went the DIY route and spent a lot less ... and I think I got a pretty good system.
My first suggestion, the rear speakers DO NOT need to be $300-400 ... that just seems like a waste in my mind. Make sure the fronts are great, give them good power ... then just use something for a bit of rear fill.
My setup uses Klipsch horns ... not for the faint of heart. I had to make a custom fiberglass mold to hold them in the kick panels, but it looks pretty damn good for me (and sounds GREAT). I put 6.5" Klipsch mids in the stock locations in the doors. I have no rear speakers at all.
Now ... that's a bit different setup than you will prolly do, but it gives you an idea that you do not have to use rear speakers.
I'd suggest some Focal polyK's (components) for the front and maybe a Adire Brahma 10 or Resonant Engineering XXX 10".
I used a driver very similar to the RE XXX 10". It is in a .6 ft^3 box that is fiberglassed into the left side of the spare tire well ( still have spare tire access).
If you don't want to do it yourself. I guess I would suggest Ovation Audio in Indy ... there are also some places here in Terre Haute that are not bad.
Front Speakers:
Focal PolyKevlar, PolyGlass
Rainbow
Boston (very good for the $$)
Amps:
Zapco has a good selection
Diamond are ok, but $$
Subs:
RE XXX 10
Adire Brahma
JL 10W7 ( very$$ for what ya get)
I know how you feel stuck here in the midwest (I live down in PR)... and i have been here 3.5 years now
If ya need any help installing stuff ... drop me a line .. im only about 45 minutes away ...
