Default Car surveillance / security camera

So this past Friday I parked my car at work (Hunts Point/Bronx) in the morning and came back to it around 12pm only to discover that both of my sideview mirrors were stolen. It looks like just the mirror glass was removed, but I see there's two greenish plugs that look like something's been disconnected. The mirror adjustment controls seem to work fine though.

I've been looking into what kind of security camera setup I could have, but so far it's been difficult to find a clear solution. I would love to have a motion sensor that triggers the camera to record for a couple of minutes or something. Has anyone managed to find something like that?

OP...that sucks that it happened and that you have to deal with it.

Those wires are for the heaters. I don't think having a camera or alarm will do you much good, especially where you live. Does anyone pay attention to car alarms anymore? Did they ever? What would the NYPD do with the footage you might provide?
