Exclamation Attention: All Of You With Subs!

I have seen some pretty elaborate and outstanding stereo set-ups on this site, but relatively little information on the power supply behind them. So my question is to you all, "What keeps your subs from draining the voltage of the car?" (dimming lights, etc.) What type of wiring, new alternator, yellow top battery, nothing, etc? Let me know! Also please indicate your stereo set-up.

I have a JL 10W7 custom install under the hatch bar, with the 500/1 Amp, and a SonyWx-4500x Head Unit. Nothing to help the voltage and the lights dim.

Listed below is my setup. I am using an Optima Yellow Top battery and a 3 Farad Capacitor. My lights don't dim at all.

Also what does your signature mean, "My ish bumps" What the heck does that mean Snoop?

I have a xtant 600watt amp turned down to run about 400rms to my infinity perfect 10.1d... when I turn it up loud, my lights dim, but my head hurts too, so I rarely turn it up loud enough for them to dim... I can't imagine cruising around listening to music loud enough for the lights to dim!

it's all in the signature, running on stock battery and alternator. 500 watts to the JL 10w6v2.

haven't noticed any dimming of any lights.

I have the JL 500/1 amp and 300/4 amp in mine. I do notice a little dimming when it's really ****in loud but only at idle speeds when the alternator is making minimal power. I don't think it's a big deal.

I have two twelve inch subs by polk/momo (model mm126) and cutting edge audio amps (model CE1000M) thats running the subs.

I have the stock battery and my lights do not dim at all. The amp are ugly but they work well.

Im also running another amp for the mids by cutting edge audio (model CE4F). The entire system hits hard.

My set up is in the gallery.

I have a jl 100W and jl 450x4W. I have a yellow top, but plan on putting in another battery and a better alternator if necessary.

I think by running a decent Capacitor with your system your lights shouldn't dim at all , I had one in my setup and no problems
with the lights 1.5 and up should work

While the Optima batterys are the coolest batteries in the world , I think a 1-2 farad capacitor would do you more good, its like a tiny battery you wire inline that supplies extra power during heavy bass.

Scott Webb... nice setup!!!

You guys definetely need some kind of capacitor or special battery.

I am running a JL 300.4 and a JL 500.1, if you're running on the stock battery and that's it, it will kill your alternator.

I have the Rockford Fosgate battery.
