Request for anyone removing their door panels soon...
Sorry for not being clear.
I didn't dremel my speaker, and I didn't dremel the grill.
Here is what I did:
1) Removed door panel(s)
2) Removed grill from panel(s)
3) Took off stock speaker and used it as the spacer.
4) Put new speaker on door with factory spacer.
5) Put panel(s) back on (with grills off).
6) Saw that speaker was hitting the door panel by looking thru the grill hole.
7) Took off door panel and dremel'd the DOOR PANEL part that was hitting the speaker.
8) Repeat 5 - 7 until I can put the panel back on without hitting the speaker.
9) Put the grill back onto the speaker opening on the door panel.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

I had to sand away part of the door panel too (very little). The part that's bad for me is the tweeter coming out of the middle of the speaker. Sticks out too far and hits the grill.
I used the stock speaker as a spacer too.

Talked to my installer on the phone. He was having no luck making the Dynaudio driver stop hitting the door panel. Haven't seen it in person yet, but due to size of the speaker basket (large) my installer actually had to trim away a small bit of the metal door skin. This allowed him to actually slide the entire speaker up about .5" inch, so it now clears the speaker grill cutout in the door panel completely. (The bottom portion of the speaker is no longer sticking below the door panel hole like you see in my people's installs.) I should be getting the car back tomorrow (after a week!), so I'll post all the pics as soon as possible. I gave the installer an disposable camera to snap pics during the install, so I'll post those as soon as I get them developed. (Wow, a film camera. What a novelty.)
Interesting. Not sure how I'd move them up higher but that would work.
I have the Infinity Kappas 63.5i's in the front.
I think I just need to sand down the stock spacers some, maybe 1/8" and it will just fit with the grill back reinforcements gone and it sanded down.
thanks for any advice.
