I found a good deal on an eclipse 5443. First of all is this a good unit. Is there a special wiring harness for this to run where the stock unit is. Also where can you pick up a stereo kit that will cover the open space where the stock unit was. I'm slowly upgrading my system as $$$ allows. What would be a good speaker, but a reasonable price. I don't need anything that busts my ear drums. I currently just have the stock speakers, non-bose system. Is an amp required if you are going to get new speakers. Sorry for all the questions, new to this, and thanks for the help.

 

This is a very good amp. Very clean. You should change to a new amp if you plan are changing your stock speakers.

I bought my dask kit from www.millionbuy.com they have double din and single din kits. They also carry the harness. Dupli-color paint will also work nicely with the dash kit to match you interior, just remember to prime the kit and get flat paint not glossy even thought the z interior is glossy.

The CD5443 is a very good head unit.It looks great,not to flashy.It has 5v amp preouts on it which is good to have since plan on putting a system in later.you shouldnt have to replace it for a while because its a lot better than anything else you would probably find.I had one in my old 300zx and I loved it.
