For those who have installed XM/radio with the Sony XT-XM1 receiver... how did you guys assign presets, controls, etc.? how do I set up an XM account? there weren't any instructions with the receiver.

I haven't completed installing the Sony XM receiver with that H/U (stupid work gets in the stupid way! Again!!)
But, go to www.xmradio.com and follow the links to XM Activation. There's an XM number next to the unit's serial number that you'll need. Once you complete the registration, you'll be asked to turn the unit on and keep it on while the unit downloads the necessary info... but don't sweat it if you're not comfortable leaving your stereo turned on for an hour or so.
Pretty simple. As for your other questions, I can't help just yet as I don't have it all hooked up. But if I come across anything I'll post it to this thread.

Has anyone installed this head unit with a factory nav system in place? how do they interact? I want to get the sony but don't want to make any modifications to the way the factory nav works (i.e. the voice over the speakers)
Also... Anyone know of reputable custom install shops in the Santa Monica area?
