Default Bose cd player not working when it's cold out?

Who has had problems with their cd player not working when it is cold out? I have the touring model with the bose system. When it is warm out,no problems at all. What did the dealer do to fix this? Thanks for the info.

My system works when it's cold out, but it skips all the time. It's fine for the most part when it's warm out. I'm not aware of any fixes...I use my iPod most of the time anyways.

I've had problems with the skipping on my Bose HU in the cold. Very frustrating. I have found that sometimes you can just "ride it out" and the skipping dissapears when the CD player warms up, but at other times, I have gotten to a point where it would stop playing all together. If you hit power off for a sec, then power it back on, you will get your audio back, but it will still be skippy till its warm.

It's most likely from condensation on the laser reader's lens. I don't think you can do anything about it. It's not an uncommon problem in CD players.

The owner's manual states the Bose unit may not function properly in cold weather. Get rid of it. It is junk. I did. Best decision I have made to date.
