It's called inverting the subs. It's mostly to show off the basket of the sub. It makes the sealed area a little smaller (since you don't have to account for the displacement of the sub's frame) but the sub sticks out, so I suppose the space used evens out.

 

subs outside the enclosure is called a 4th order box.....don't know what's under the subs or it could be 3rd or 5th order box.

Basically, uses the air inside the cabin as the basis for generating sound pressure (and hence SPL).

No no no ... it is a simple sealed box (unless he ported it somewhere). The only difference is that the subs are not housed in the enclosure. You just wire them out of phase, making them sound exactly the same as would be a sealed box (if they were mounted traditionally) however the internal volume of the enclosure is smalled, but you lose external space to the flashy basket and motor structure.

Anyways, what is the internal volume for that sub enclosure? Were you going for SPL (assuming so with 3 12s)? Does it sound good? (not just loud)

The Louis fabric is a bit cheesy as I see it, unless this is some sort of show car ... face it ... this is a Z, not a bentley or some big ballin' sort of car... to each their own on that I suppose.

The in-dash setup is nice ... I have been eyeing that model for a while now, but have decided to go with a Xenarc and in car PC instead.

Anyways, the car looks like a great start to making a heck of a schow car. Gook Luck with it
