I installed my Infinity's a few weeks ago and amped them this past weekend (week and a half ago). This past friday I noticed a popping in my right rear speaker when I turned the ignition switch off. Today I noticed that that same speaker was no longer working. I turned my ignition switch on and off several times and it began working again. However, the sound was so muffled and staticy that it was unusable. So I removed that speaker and hooked it up in the left rear speaker area and it worked perfectly fine. I then hooked the one that was on the left side up to the right location and it showed the same results. I have determined that something has caused the crossover that came with my Infinity's to go bad. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, is there a quick fix or do I need to purchase a new crossover? Unfortunately, I purchased these speakers from an online retailer that is not an authorized dealer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Try taking apart the crossover like Beaker said. If it is a loose wire then it's easy. If it's a fried electronic, I doubt you have the technical know-how to fix it. You can always purchase a new pair from crutchfield, and then return the broken pair. This is highly unethical though. Just a thought.
if you want i have a pair of x-overs for the 62.5i's that i can sell you.
i don't really know how much they are worth but if you want PM me a price. i know you only need 1 but if i sell only 1 i'll never be able to do anything with the other.
