Hmm, Alpine doesn't even list a type X on their website, and I've never heard of a Type-X sub..only speakers. Where did you get that picture from? Maybe it's a photochop or something lol.

Should be a great sub...but no one can tell until it's actually been heard. I still think the IDMax is the best for your $$...you can get 2 for the price of 1 w7

Anyone know any actual specs on the sub?

Coil Size, material, TSPs?

Could just be a gimmiky sub with the CF cone ... I will reserve judgement until I hear one though.

um... yeah. You have to hear it first. Doesn't matter what the RMS and peak power if it doesn't sound clear.

helllloooo? its a top of the line Alpine to match their Type-x speaker line it will be clear and it's no gimmick. The only specs so far are:
Carbon fiber/aluminum cone
Santoprene rubber surround
87dB
20 - 0.5kHz fq Rsp

The real question is cost. My guess is $750. Anyone else care to play?

Crutchfield has it for $449 I thought. A little odd that Alpine doesn't even have the sub listed on their website....

Why don't you call up Crutchfield.

10" is 400, 12" is 450 retail. so you will pay less that that.

thanks for supporting dream2reality ... I want the TSPs too

if any one can find the T/S parameters of the sub, since crutchfield doesnt know them ... I would love to know .

.. it may be a very nice sub ... I know it looks nice in pics

I just wonder if it will be a nice SQ woofer ... or just another be-all end-all spl woofer

Considering that Alpines Type X mid/high stage speakers are possibly some of the best I don't doubt this sub is going to be WELL worth the money. I agree that we do need some thiele/small parameters before buying it though
