Good Audio Shop in Chicago
Hey guys I will need a good shop soon to have some audio upgrades done to my G35c.
I plan on using the PAC aux in (end of april) to hook up a hard drive based mp3 player. The player has a small controller unit I want installed in place of the ashtray. I would need the area around the ashtray cut a little bit to make the controller fit. I also plan to install the following:
PA5422 - Eclipse 4 Ch 800 Watt Amplifier
85W × 4 Channel 0.1% THD at 4 Stereo, 20–20,000Hz@13.8V
(RMS Continuous Power)
165V2 - Focal 6.5" Polyglass Component (Front Speakers)
165CV - Focal 6.5" Polyglass Coaxials (Rear Panel Speakers)
No plans for rear 6x9's
My Questions are:
1. Anyone know a good audio install place that would do this work?
2. How much Could I explect to spend?
3. For the rear panel speakers should I use coax speakers? Someone told me to use all component?

In the North West subarbs there is a place called ABT in Glenview off of milwaukee. Great place, and great quality, but there is a bit of price premium, i couldnt make a guess as to what you would pay. For the rears, most people just leave the stock unplugged, because the rears kind of disrupt the soundstage. Do not use components in the back, its overkill and theres no reason for it.
there's ray's electronic in Addison. they could get you anything you want and at great prices. I've been shopping for audio components since 97 and have encountered numerous below par shops, and this one is the best experience I've had. They worked on my z and the quality is superb. People are knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk to. It's a mom and pop shop so they know quality and customer service is there number one asset.
