Default question about dvd systems

i am looking to get the Kenwood KVT-715DVD system. Is there anyway to defeat the dvd only while parked mechanism? I want this for trips and such, and it'd be dumb to only be able to watch while parked (well, for passenger obviously, since im 100% concentrated on the road )

There are always ways to defeat that feature. Sometimes it is wiring and sometimes it can be by pushing a certain button sequence. I installed the Alpine IVA-900 and went through the same thing.

I would check with a Kenwood dealer. You'll probably have better luck going to a smaller shop that does custom work. A lot of times all you have to do is ground an extra wire that is supposed to be connected to the e-brake. I was able to bypass mine by doing a foot brake hand brake combination.

For my AVIC-N1 install, I just had to ground the e-brake sensor wire. Very easy.
