Which Alpine is better?7995 or 9835?
So here is the offical system.
2 JL Audio 10w3v2 subs powered by
1 JL Audio 500/1 Amp
1 JL Audio 650 CSI Component
1 JL Audio 650 CXI Coaxial
Both powered by
1 JL Audio 300/4 Amp
And finally the Head unit. I chose the CDA 9835 just for the newer features. Honestly I was wowed by the fact that I can change the LED color to any color I want
I am stupid..
Anyhow was that a poor choice to choose over the CDA 7995? Both were going to be the same price. Lemme know what you think Audiophiles

See my sig for what I have (same as you) but I have the Alpine 7998 ... I too am probably going to get the 9835. The flip out is getting old. Also, the only colors that change on the 9835 are the chiclet buttons (so I've been told).
Just out of curiosity, what did you pay for the 9835 ?

Hey Track... paid 460 for it ... not bad but not great. MSRP is like 500 I think... not positive though. Also when he showed me the color change, the color changes on the highlights for all the buttons... I think
... I was too "Ohhhhhh pretty lights." So sad

Well, the 2004 models (983x) will be compatible with the iPod Ai-Net module. This will allow you to use the buttons/display on the head units to control and display the songs on your iPod. It will also charge the iPod. This is why I bought the 9831.
BTW, the iPod module may work with other Ai-Net receivers, but it's only guaranteed to work with the 2004's.

I choose the 7995 last June and I have been very happy with it.
I agree that colored lights in orange would better match the gauges but the 7995 had this delay function which lets you set the amount of delay to match the placement of the speakers, and I love it.
After that I choose the 7995 because it was one the few HU with silver trim, to match the interior of the car , it had a sub controller and RCA aux in.
Hooked mine up to a kenwood fm modulator to control my 20GB kenwood keg, via the RCA and aux in the mp3 player. 2500 songs aint bad to have around, when the mood hits you.
And I think it looks as good as most any other on the market.
