What are guys doings about wiring your door speakers? Keeping the stock wiring or re-wiring the whole car?

I'm planning on running 75watts RMS to my door speakers. Do you guys think the factory wiring will be sufficient? If not, what gauge do you reccomend? 14?

 

The factory is probaly 18awg at best. For 75 watts 16awg would suffice, but 14 or 12 would not hurt. Problem with going larger is getting it to fit if you have mulitple runs going into the door.

I have had mine(car) a day, so I havent even checked to see how they ran the door wire. Hopefully its just a boot.

 

In order to run wire to the doors, you are going to have to cut thru the factory plug that goes into the doors. Any good installer will be able to do this for you. If you are a DIYer, there is a post on here about how to do this. Just do a search and you will find it. I ran 12 and 16 ga wire into each door and it fit easily.
