Default Focal 165 KP or Focal 165 K2P? Help me decide!

Anyone recommend these? And whats the difference between the two? I believe one has a bigger magnet, ect?

Focal 165 K2P- $499.00

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=13571

Rated @ 100 watts. I am leaning towards this one

Focal 165 KP- $419.00

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=13570

This one is rated @80 watts

Need serious advice, I am getting one of these two compenet speakers.

Will they fit in the doors, tweeters also? Thanks for any help. It stime to toss my kickers and get some real sound out of my doors. I am so sick of my rear focals sounding louder than the doors.

Default get the better ones!!!

go spend that extra 80bucks, its worth every penny. and yes it will fit only with a diagonal cut spacer and try to keep the tweeter location within 8" of the midbass.

I'm in the same situation as you are. I think I'm going to opt for the 165KP, only because I'm going to be running 75 watts to them. So I feel that this speaker is better suited for my application.

BTW I believe onine car stereo doesn't have either of them in stock. That place has great prices, but I dont think they stock anything because I've called for like 7 different items and they don't have any of them in stock.

just so you know, speaker power ratings are pretty much B.S. No matter what a speaker is rated at as far as power handling goes, what destroys a speaker is power clipping i.e. distortion caused by weak amps that can't produce a clean signal at high output. Go with whichever one SOUNDS better and don't worry about the ratings.

??? i don't know where you got that from but they fit perfect in the stock locations with no mods.

As for which ones to get, go for KP2. Focals are by far the best sounding components I have ever heard. If you are having trouble getting some, let me know, my friend owns a stereo shop in Dallas (mesquite) called Dynamic Audio. They deal with Focal a lot. PM me if you need to get in contact with them, they have plenty in stock.

Here is a pic of the focals in my door

Can you PM me a price for the Focal K2p's? Can he beat the price listed above in the link? If so, please let me know, I am driving that way in a month or two. And can easily have them installed on my road trip.

Please advise, thanks.

I am not driving a lot of power to them so I have the KPs, if you want to put more power I recomend the K2Ps. They both sound incredible.

Plus I got them dirt cheap. Somone had stolen the pair of tweets and my friends shop threw in a pair of the Utopia tweeters instead of the tweets that come with the KPs. So i lucked out.

For you guys wanting to buy Focals on line, you need to check this out. This is straight from the focal website.

http://focal-america.com/catalog/policy.htm

According to focal, they are not allowed to be sold online AT ALL. Warrenties are not coverred by focal if bought online.
