I have a 500/5 JL audio amp and I know it only has 25W on the rear channels. What speakers would work well on that power. My fronts are a Focal 165K2P.

Also, any recommendations on wiring kits?

 

For my setup, I went with the Focal K2 Power 165 K2P's in the front and the Focal Access 165 A's in the rear. I will be powering the K2P's with a Zapco Reference 360 bridged into two channels with a very conservitive 180 each. I still haven't figured out how much I will be running to the rears, but I can tell you this. The 165 A's are about half the weight of the K2P's and they have an extremely light cone which is why I think that they are more efficient than the K2P's. They cannot handle the same amount of power, but for rear fill, you wouldn't want them to. And they are less than half the price of the K2P's. I am still debating on if I should use the 165 A's tweeters or not in the rear application.

As for subs, I chose two JL Audio 10 w7's and a Zapco Reference 1000 to run them. After talking to Zapco, I was told to expect about 1250 to 1300 in a 3 ohm mono load so there wont be any need to run a serious low impedence in order to pull more power from the amp. This amplifier is a class A/B, not D, so it will definitely be clean power going to those w7's.

 

I have the 165 A's in the rear. Def. worth it. I am getting the 165K2's for the fronts this summer.

I would think that 25 for the rear is plenty. You would more than likely be turning down an amp with anymore like the 450/4 which I believe is rated at 150 X 2 front and 75 X 2 rear. I think you'd be cutting back on the gains for your rears if you had that. What I do like about the 450/4 is the 150 per front. I think that is ideal for a set of K2P's

 

Are you guys using the 165CA or the 165A?

 

What about using the 165 CA in the rear? Do you want that tweeter in there without a crossover?
