Enclosed is a picture of my new mirror mount for the escort 8500 X50. Escort has changed the suction cup mounts on the new models. The picture shows a suction cup bracket that comes with the X50 mounted to my mount.

Your mount worked perfect with my "Cobra" detector. I didn't have to modify a thing.

So Mike what is the difference between this one and the old one? I bought an old one from a member here for my X50 and I'm using the new cup mount that Passport sent me. It works perfectly.

why would i wanna use this instead of the suction cups supplied with the detector?

 

ernorth,,,,mounting your dect. from the mirror arm keeps your windshield free from suction cup marks,,and allows for more visibility. Plus,,,with this mount, if you hardwire your dect., its easy to blend the powercord with mirror arm, so nothing is showing. Also, I have read that using this mount/dect. combo allows better detection from the rear of the car...

These are things that I have read about the mount from this site. JMHO

 

where can I get one?

 

Personally I like being able to put my sunshade up without having to remove the detector. And not worry about the suction cups failing in high heat.

 

It fit my 07 coup just fine.
