I can't figure out why my radar doesn't work using a stripped phone cord. The phone cord has four wires.........red, black, green, and yellow. I assumed the red and black were the ones to use and it didn't work. Then, I used the black and green and black with yellow. But, still not working. So, I read the thread with the diagram of the phone cord and used the two wired described on the diagram and still doesn't work. Anybody know what I am doing wrong. I hooked it up to a power and ground that I know works for sure.

 

Are you using the middle two wires of the four from the stripped phone cord? Phone cords could vary with wire color, but for sure it's the two middle wires of the four. Match these two to the pins in the diagram that you are refering to in another thread here called "Passport 8500" or something like that, BUT reverse what the diagram is telling you as it is not correct. I had the same problem that you are having. Also note that you have to turn the key past the first stop to the second one (there's one, two, then the car starts) for the radar to turn on.

Did you tried to turn the ignition on? If you wiring to cig lighter, than car should be on.

 

I will try flipping the two middle wires to see if this works. Hope it works.
