Default I'm interested

I'm in, but their listed price is steep...how much of a discount can you get? Also, I tried to get downloadable version of their install instructions and received lame excuse that they can't release that information!?

^ Yes it connects to the stock Nav. Only involves splicing 4 wires, only 1 on the G35.

If we can get at least 5 buyers, we can get an intro price of $480 for either unit. There is a flat fee of $15 for shipping to US addresses only.

There are more pictures here.

I originally found a factory rear view camera on the Japanese Z site. I can't read Japanese so I don't know what kind of connectors it has. The following is the thread I opened a while ago.

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=78244

Does anyone know if that camera connects directly to the factory Nav Screen or would I have to use a pass through unit like the one offered through AvElectronic.com?

Thanks,
Robert

^ Not sure if it will connect to the factory Nav, but I wouldn't think so.

The AVElectronic box has an input for a back up camera. They also offer a license plate with a built in rear view camera that has been tested with their box.

This revolutionary patented camera design integrates a rear vision camera with your vehicle’s rear license plate. It’s easy-to mount and it will enhance the look of your car, SUV, Truck or Van. The License Plate Camera integrates with your vehicle so well you’ll hardly notice it was there. The 130o Horizontal x 110o Vertical ultra wide-angle CCD color camera provides rear images in real time and eliminates the dangerous “blind-spot” directly behind your vehicle when backing-up. The camera works day or night, on any size vehicle. The License Plate Camera has been tested and works well with our Navigation TV Tuner and the Navigation Video Switcher system. Increase the safety around your family, pets, and property while reducing the risk of damage and high insurance premiums from backup collisions. Just 1 minor scratch on your bumper will cost more to repair than the cost of this camera.

-Image Device: 1/3" CCD with 10 Bit A/D Digital Signal Processor.

I'd definitely be interested in the navigation video switcher depending on when we need to have money in and how long this group buy lasts.

The resolution looks blurry and doesn't seem to fill the whole screen on the 350Z examples in the gallery.

Also no RGB input .. that would require a TV-out equipped display card on the PC. Are there any issues with resolution running at 800x600?

I'm interested, but I'd really like to hear a few user reviews from g35/350z owners before jumping in on this group buy.

It is blurry a little because of the picture/camera it was taken with. Same thing would happen if you took a picture of your computer monitor.

Also it does fill in the entire screen. What you see in the pictures is the black frame around the screen that even my Nav has.

Just as an FYI - A model is in the works that will allow S-Video input!

The System 1: Navigation TV Tuner System has been discontinued by AVElectronic and will only sell and support the Video Switcher System.

This system is built much better and will support multiple inputs.

The GB will be only for the System 2 and accessories. Jump on it now to save on our first buy that will happen by the end of the month!
