Are you using stock speakers? I upgraded the back speakers to Pionner 4 way 6 3/4" and that made a huge difference. Next step for me is 6 1-2" fronts and the HU.

I was going to buy the Kenwood for $1100 from a nice authorized dealer in Pasadena CA, but they offered me a Eclipse AVX 2404 for the same price.
It has screen savers that you can download from Sony memory sticks or video cameras. Not to mention all the other stuff.
Good or bad ?

I let them keep the rest, so they just charged me $5
But you can buy the Metra kit on eBay, or local shop
mudger
If you go back one page, you will see the 2 wiring harness to get
If you buy these, there is no soldering needed, and just 1 wire to cut (black wire / ground on the Nissan metra wiring harness)
You just need to run power, and ground (as the stock z wiring harness doesn't have a ground)
The fuse in toykilla picture, is the Accessory Kenwood wiring harness #2, that comes with the Kenwood
Yellow I ran to the battery (with another fuse)
The Green is the parking wire
And the black is ground
I wired the Green, Black, and Black from the Nissan Metra harness togeter in 1 end of a but connector, and the other end to ground.
I grounded it to the ground used by the stock gauges.

Thanks everyone for all of your input!
This head unit looks great.
I am however going to wait just a while to see if anyone else comes out with something similar.... I would really like a similar unit with memory stick slot or Engine stats like the Avic N1 but in double din flavor.
Thanks again, you guys are awesome !

New Z?
toykilla, you got a new Z? I saw your accident & photos a while back, and didn't see much from you for a while.... was accident your fault or what?
You bought another Z? I was debating whether I would buy a Z again....after all the mods, and thought of having to do all that again if it was in an accident! I would probably end up in prison for choking whoever hit my Z first!

Losing Bose system...
do it, Do It, DO IT... Lose that POS BLOSE system!!! I debated quite some time about adding just bass, changing out speakers ands keeping head unit(for stock look), and replacing head unit entirely. If the DDX-7015 was not available, I would have left stock in. But it was, and it is WORTH it! Great unit.
Bose Blows....I wanted to get everyone together who ripped it out and have the amps and subwoofers all sent to me. i live about 45 minutes from Bose Los Angeles office. I wanted to drive a huge pickup truck full of their SHETTY products and phoitograph my dumping of all that(hydraulic P/U bed) garbage at their office door. with a note. "from your Z friends..... A Kraco sounds better".
I think I'm just going to jerk the Bose system out all together. I've had the car 2 days and it's already driving me nuts. [/B][/QUOTE]
