I didn't know you could hardwire to the mirror until after I ordered the hardwire kit from passport. now that I have it, are there any advantages to hardwiring to the fuse box rather than the mirror? because it seems like the mirror would still be easier. and i dont want to tap into the ignition because it seems like it would be too much work.

Personally I would use the fuse box bc it seems like a safer route. Less chance of shorting somehthing out. However, the mirror install looks very clean. I just thought of this..what if you add your own fuse to the wire before connecting it to the mirror? That should be relatively safe.
