In-car PC nav is going crazy
I have Street Altas navigation on my in-car PC, and its having a real hard time acquiring satallites. It will get a signal for about 1 minute and then lose it. Sometimes it will go for half an hour without being able to lock in. The system was working fine for about a year; I didn't run the nav software for several months, and now its got real problems.
Any ideas?

I am using DeLorme EarthMate GPS.
The display for the satellites shows a vertials black line with an id for each satellite. That line is overalyed with a colored dot to indicate signal strength. Red, Yellow and Green. Normally I would see 7 or 8 satellites, and most of them would show green. Now I usually see 0 to 2 lines as the system is attempting to acquire a signal. Occasionally I wll see the 7 or 8 lines, but they just don't get acquired. Then for a few seconds the system will acquire enought to start tracking, but then the will all be lost, and the display will go back to 0 to 2 lines again.
I have been wondering of the GPS unit is going bad, but am not sure how to test it.
