The HDD Nav will not work over here. The other functions will. I am trying to find out if it has video outputs, so we would be able to atach the US Nav and DVD Changer. I think it will only play DVD's in the Japan Region. Unit costs around 2200.00 USD.

I found more pics and I will link them tonight, I could not get the pics to paste.

I have a feeling Alpine will make this a US version aside from the HDD Nav and make it DVD since now Eclipse and Kenwood have DD units and are selling very well. ( EClipse is having trouble stocking them because they go as soon as they are stocked)

I would say in about two years. Thing is also, their graphics are alot more sophisticated, shows buildings on the side etc. I think the only way to do this is to map out the major cities in each state to show building "replicas" on the software.

Also we are about two to three years behind in what Japan releases on the major market. Kind of sucks because they have all the nice toys! other than us going thru a dealer who can get J-spec components.

I always look on the Japanese sites to see what is new and maybe inquire to see if I can get one . Right now I am going to order the Eclipse E3308 MDC 3 md changer to interlink w/ the AVN-2454. I like this Alpine, but for 2200.00 I don't think it is worth it, if it can oly play region 2 DVDs

Sure, right. Those d@mn subliminal messages Actually I didn't catch it until you pointed it out. I am sure all the major companies will be coming out with this soon, but I am kinda partial to Alpine myself
