WHat is the best indash dvd player with flip up screen?
Which one has the best screen resolution, most pixels?

 

IMO, Kenwood 7015. it's not a flip-up. it's a double din HU. The best resolutioin i've seen.

 

I have to agree with the 7015. I looked at all the rest and decieded on that one. Will have pics up by monday <M>

 

In my opinion Alpine iva-d901 or Eclipse AVX 2494. They both have 1.15 million pixels.

7015 best Indash dvd receiver I had plus lots of expandibility with the unit.

 

With the 7015, can it play VCD disc's? I had a Clarioun VRX935 in my Celica and it could do DVD, MP3, VCD and so on, but thinking more about this one for the Z

I like the Clarion the best b/c it's fully functional with the screen tucked. Like you said, it does everything as well, only thing I had to add was 5.1 processor.

Honestly, do you people actually watch movies while driving? I only bought mine b/c I like to have the screen to navigate sound/setup options for my system. I almost NEVER have the screen out when I drive.

 

don't know if it can play vcd. but you can put 4.5 gigs of mps and play it with the 7015. the reason i like it. might do that with my xbox, but the 7015 has a 24bit dac because of the dvd player.

7015 is a great unit. Yes it does play VCD's

 

right now im having a hard time deciding if i should keep my vrx935 and get the 7015 instead...or maybe i should just keep the 935 and get the 7015 for the cubby hole and have both? haha i duno

 

I am holding off doing my stereo system upgrade in the hopes of a unit with dvd, nav, mp3, and high resolution coming out in the near future. Hopefully one will come out soon.

 

How much was it with installation?

 

I have the Clarion VRX935VD, it plays dvd/mp3/vcd, and it also does SEEK (FF/REW) when playing MP3 songs, which is a must for me.. I listen to mp3 songs that are all combined to one file..

It doesn't play DVD_RW though..

Which one indash plays DVD_RW disc?

 

I have the 7015 also, one of my most useful features is the aux input...you have to buy a seperate cable that plugs into the changer input ($20 at crutchfield) but then you have a set of rca inputs for whatever, i use it for an ipod. Also, you can get the unit flush with the dash if you modify the factory brackets, just lay the head unit on its side and set it flush with the dash cover, mark the bracket and drill new holes, if not the factory holes in the brackets send the 7015 about 1/2 an inch out from the dash.
