Poor Antenna Reception Fixed
Well, I have finally stopped searching for a satellite radio solution. I figured out why my aftermarket head unit got such crappy FM/AM reception.
It turns out that the antenna is amplified a bit, and you need to give it some power. So that little blue wire with a white stripe on it that comes on the harness..... connect that to your remote turn on. The reception becomes better than the average radio. I hope this helps, I know I listen to the radio without frustration now

Studlee,
Did you use an aftermarket wiring harness. If so, it should go onto the power antenna.

Yeah I used an aftermarket wiring harness from Scoche. I never hooked the blue/white stripped wire (power antenna) to anything because the antenna wasn't powered in the sense that it went up and down when the radio was on/off. But I found out the other day that it is powered as in "Amplified", and now I get great reception.
