Thumbs up First ticket avoided from Passport SRX

Well, I was driving somewhere this afternoon, when I come over a hill, and low and behold, my Passport SRX starts going ape. I recognized that it was the "Laser shifting" sound, but I looked at the unit display to confirm. All this happened just prior to my visibly seeing the city police car parked in the lot of a closed down plant nursery. Of course, I slowed down gradually, and paid him no mind as I approached.

Just as I was about to drive by him, I saw him lower his laser unit and give it a strange look like something was amiss. Ahhhhh....you won't know until you experience it how sweet that feeling is of knowing you pulled one over on the fuzz and avoided a ticket with your laser shifter. Worth every penny, maybe even its weight in traffic violations....

I bought my Passport SRX here locally in Nashville, TN and of course had it professionally installed. If you look into it and buy one, read the manual carefully, as I think they have to install it with factory settings. This means you have to go into the setup menu and turn laser shifting on yourself for that feature to be enabled.

Hope your 'Z'ipping around is as fun and incident free as mine....

Shouldn't you turn it off after you slow down? Otherwise he might be the wiser when he trys to retarget.
Congrats though.

I can't remember the exact specs on this, but after something like 30 seconds (maybe less, but more than enough to adjust your speed) the laser shifting feature disables itself for some brief period of time. Then, after a short period it re-enables laser shifting. So, if the coppers wanted to get out and trail me, he could get a fix on my speed, but by then I won't be speeding. All the while, whether shifting or not, the unit will still alert you that you're being tracked with laser. Pretty cool features in my opinion. I drive a lot with the top down, so I really like the stealthy install. Nothing is visible to the cops, even if they pull me over. They'd have to get me out of the car and get into my Z to see anything.
