Default Whats the trick to XM stealth install?

I know a few people on the forum have mounted there XM antenna on the stut bar in the trunk however my shop can't get a good signal there.

Is there a certain antenna you need to purchase or what?

I have Sirius, and an antenna by Terk - mounted on the strut bar - and the signal is great.

Mine is sitting on top of the strut on the passenger side so it can "see" out the small rear side window but it really shouldn't even need to be exposed. As long as there is no metal above it it should be OK. Many members have theirs under the plastic of the strut without trouble.

it does not look like a regular antenna... it kind of looks like a computer mouse. Also its nice to hide so no one knows you have Sirius but you and your passenger.

Pardon my ignorance on how satellite signals travel, but will this still work with very dark tint? (radar detector too)
