I like the look of that encloser alot.
I think if you could get it to match the color of your car like his
under strut enclosers it would rock.
I like them because they look kind of factory.
Oh yeah, Who ever is driving that Z needs to clean that beast up.
What would Dr.B say if he seen that mess :P

Yeah it needs a cleaning but I'd guess that is their test car. It's probably had both boxes in and out a hundred times as they worked out the fitment.

You did raise another question - how well does it blend with the vinyl lining of the back of the Z?

I have no clue. I just like the fact it looks stock.
I like the location alot because it doesnt take up the entire hatch area. Not that i ever use mine but its there if you need it.
Myself as I said earlier I like it but it needs more bling or flash to it.
I wonder what the airspace requirements are for those subs and if that encloser has all the proper requirements..

That's one of the reasons I'm asking around about it. CAS recommends a JL 10W3. According to the specs on that sub it should be in an enclosure of 0.6 ft³. I'm also wondering about the sound since it is aimed sideways across the back.

I DO like the fact that it blends in and is not too blingy - a real stealth setup.

The blue car in pictures belongs to JC in the Forums. Yes the car was dirty when we took the pictures, It is clean now

This enclosue has an old thread I will need to find for you guys. But short story is, It is about .45 Cu.ft. We fill it with poly fill to gain about 10%. With a clean and well controlled amp like JL 250/1 with a lot of control over the sub, End result is very nice. The sub firing in to the side of the hatch inhances the sound presure level.

I am eager to hear what everyone thinks of the enclosure JC ?? You out there ??

Thanks Nazar. BTW, I talked to you Friday PM on the phone about this setup.

I've seen a couple of threads regarding the box that goes under the strut tower but hadn't run across any on the side box. Search functions has been so flaky lately I couldn't find anything that way.

How thick is the fiberglass walls of the enclosure?

I found the original thread from start of the enclosure build.

Love it. It's somewhat louder than stock but I like to hear the engine when accelerating. Looks great because it's polished SS with large angled tips. Has a nice deep tone like the stock exhaust, not "ricey". Iy has a better Y-pipe than the stock setup and is a larger diameter pipe. You may pick up a few HP from it.

Nazar,
Are those things still 600 per box?
I would want one for the right and left sides.
I dont think I can afford 1200 for 2 subs and 2 boxes.
Anyways, I like the nismo exhaust because its polished stainless.
Should have come that way from the factory.

Svr350z,

I talked with Nazar on Friday about them. They only fit the drivers side, there isn't one for the passenger side.

I built my own side box just like that for my square kicker solo. Sound is FANTASTIC! I really can't say enough. It's def. loud enough to p!ss off my neighbors. I'm sure the JL would sound equally as good.

Hey Jeff. No, no pix yet. The box is still in unfinished condition. I'm trying to decide what to do about finish, vinyl vs. textured paint. I'm embarrased of the way it looks unfinished, so no pix till I finish it next spring. She's going into storage in the next couple o' weeks. You driving yours this winter?
