Default Center Dash TV Options

I was thinking about getting a TV setup for X-Mas, anyone have any good ideas for what I should do as far as putting a TV in the center console? I dont' want to spend a lot, something that is good and functions well.

any suggestions would be great!
Thanks

Xenarc has much higher resolution. You don't need that much resolution unless you upgrade to an in car pc.

The farenheit works great! The shop that installed mine was surprised how perfectly it fit.

What up fellow Z'ers.
Not to say mine is the best but I'm very happy with it.
I just wish I could get mine wired and not FM modulated but its
not that much of a difference.

Soundstream DVD Touchscreen. 6.5"

Supports CD,DVD,mp3,jpeg,mpeg and vcd formats

I got mine for 1200 came with 2 monitors and head unit.
It also contains a control box which you can add 4 inputs too.

Also has inputs on the front of the dvd player.
Check it out here

barthelb,

Very impressive set-up there....can you give us some more information? I would like to hook-it up to a nav. system that uses touchscreen....like a Pioneer. Do you have navigation with that? Thanks!

Thats the only thing i don't like about it. But it's cool. Not many in dash Screens are touchscreen. It's clean though.

So your screen isn't touchscreen, is that correct? Do you have a nav. hooked up to it?

Mine is Touchscreen but does not have NAV capabilities that I know of. Who knows maybe there is some software.

Rob: When you say you want a "TV" do you simply mean a MONITOR (to use with DVD, Nav, computer, video games etc) or do you actually mean "television" as in broadcast TV?

Any of the screens mentioned will work but if you just want TV you won't need the VGA capabilty of the Xenarc. I have that one and it is awesome for computer use but I don't think you'd need it for just TV.

Also, for TV, you realize you need to buy a separate TV tuner and antenna. My experience with that has been less than optimal. The reception really sucks unless you are in a big city with close by broadcast stations. Even then, when you are moving around, the reception is spotty.

Here are links to what I have:

Just in case you need it, here is Scafremon's now famous how-to on the center dash console removal:

So if you are running a Kenwood DDX7015 head unit can you add a screen where the OEM nav unit goes to watch DVD and use NAV and not have to use the kenwood for that?
