Default chicago install

Please help me find a local install shop. I had my H.U. an alpine 9835 installed at a large electronic store ABT Electronics. Didn't quite get the end result I was looking for. The kit they used is very cheap looking. Do I have to use a kit? Can a custom trim be made so I don't have to see that nasty abs plastic.

I have the American International kit. Its 100x better than the metra dash kit.

It looks so much better. If you really want a custom one done, try autosound inc in palatine.

x 2 on the American Int'll kit. For $10, it's the best deal in town. You won't regret it. Fit and look is 200% better. And, because it uses the iso-mount instead of the metal sleve, it actually makes your head unit much harder to steal. As far as custom work, if you're willing to drive out to these guys' shop, I would highly recommend them:

SOUND DECISION
1470 DOUGLAS RD, MONTGOMERY, IL 60538
Phone: (630) 966-9696

These guys build everything from mild to wild. Otherwise, I've seen ****'s install first hand. They seem to have done good work. Shame about Abt. Bet that wasn't cheap either... Where in Chicago are you anyway? I'm sure I could find a reputable shop in your area wherever you are.

I’m a salesman at ABT and I had my car done when I first got it. They made a custom dash kit. It looks nice but was really expansive even for an employee.

The kit they are talking about for $10.00 is the best for the money, or you can get the ABT guys to do something custom. I have seen some really crazy stuff they have done. They are a little pricey but they are very good at what they do. Good Luck.

Yeah, Montgomery's not far from there. Prob. take you ~40 minutes to get out there. Again, I would highly recommend at least getting a quote from these guys. The more installers you talk to, the more educated you will become. Good luck with the upgrade!

Abt did about 20 z's. but they are pricy. Im goin to my friends shop Bad Boy Bass In glenvew for my install. They are also going to make 10" mdf sub boxes for the Z at about $90-100 and fiberglass boxes for about $300.

I'm was a loyal ABT customer. They did my WRX not long ago and did my Si as well. I don't doubt that they know what they are doing. What I have a problem with is having to bring the car back several times to finally get it right. I have decided not to have them continue with my car. Where in Glenview is the shop you mention. Did I read correctly you said 3 bones for fiberglass enclosure? ABT wanted 36 hours @ 60 bucks a shot!!! Can I have the exact address so I could visit them this weekend.

They are not fully opened yet, And they are just going to make a custom mdf box for me for now and they can make more for other people, then in a month or so when they get everything going they will start fiberglassing me a new box. Right now they are still working on the shop, and wouldent have time to make fiberglass box, as you said 36hr's for 1 box. and yes, hopefully it will be around 300. nothing more then 400.

Have decided to have Tweeter install the remaining pieces of my complete stereo install. I originally was going to do Infinity Perfects in the doors and a Perfect 10 in the hatch. I have since changed my mind and opted for the Boston Pro 6.5 for the doors, JL Audio 10w3 in the hatch, and for amplification I will use JL Audio 250/1 for the sub & 300/2 for the doors. Since I am not using the Infinity Perfect 6.1 components I am offering them at a very good price. Anybody interested?
