The box on top of my gauges is my Defi digital display which monitors EGT, water temp & oil temp.

I'll take some more pics of the door pods tomorrow and will post it then.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments.
Thank you for the info, I didn't know your car was TT, the Defi display looked like a digital boost controler, was curious not seen it before. Congrats again on clean install and set up.

Victor,

The box is secured in the car using the existing holes from the cargo net tie downs, We used a nut-sert (steel poly Nut) in place of the holes and used some bolts to hold the box from both sides.

Cool, I didn't know that. No wonder it wasn't sliding out during some spirited runs.

Nazar, I know it would difficult to make door pods without the actual car or drivers... but can you make a pair for 6 Kx or 7 kx and 4kx mid? Your work looks nice and clean, I know I probably should look locally but was wondering.

that would be hard to do without it sticking out way too far. We bought a pair of door panels from GT Factory, The plan was to make a new mold however the panels we have would need more work then us starting from scratch.

So needless to say, Anything is possible I will look into it as we are making the new door molds.

Here is the idea of what we are working on. These will be set up for 6/5/Tweet set up. They will fit up to a Focal 6/5 and tweeter will go in stock location. We will be making the whole door mold with pods integrated into them. If you can imagine it will all be one pull.

Naz,

Are those door pieces completely made from reinforced filler? How heavy are they, and how are they secured to the door panels?

FIRST POST!

Thanks,
Jay

The big door pieces you see above are being designed to become a part of the door, So when we pull the door mold it will all be one piece.

It all depends on what you like.

JL XR's are excellent all around speakers. We sell a lot of XRs.

Focal 165K2p Will require more power, But will give you more in depth sound quality, More Midbass, Mid and Highs. Focals are more of a True sounding speakers.

I like...Three 10s? Don't you think that's rather overkill? I can't imagine having three 10s in my Z. I'd be death in a few months.

The system sounds incredible and the color scheme matches perfectly with my car. For those interested, here's what the setup includes:

Kenwood DDX-7017(with Sirius satellite and iPod connection)
Focal 165K2P door component speakers with midrange mounte on custom chrome silver painted door pods
Focal Access coaxial in rear stock location
Three 10" JL Audio 10W1-V2 subs in custom chrome silver fiberglass under strut bar box
JL Audio 500/1 amp for the subs
JL Audio 450/4 amp for the Focals
Optima Battery
Dynamatting on doors and trunk floor

Let me know what you think.
Did the trim around the Kenwood unit come with the head unit or was it a kit like Metra's or custom. I have a double din unit I need to do something like that with.
Thanks
