just finished a simple little install on a s2000
with all convertibles, the main challenge is to be able to over come the road and wind noise with the top down on the hgih way.
to attach this problem, i basically say there is no subsitute for speakers and power. In other words, overload the front stage with speakres and power them with a solid amp, and you will get the volume needed.
so first, a set of DLS 426 component coaxials went into the stock lower door location, then, it ook the stock plastic kick panel of the s2k, and molded them to accept a pair of DLS UP6 6.5" components. due to the strange shape of the s2k kicks, these were a bit difficult to do than 350z kicks...but they came out okay. i decided to once again do the suede covering since i think that just looks oh so classy
here are the two finished kicks

and here is the rest of hte car, with the kicks in the vehicle. stock HU was pulled in favor of a pioneer premier 680 headunit.

the trunk is just a simple set up, nothing fancy at all...fiberglass sub box housing two image dynamics id10s, and a ppi 6600 amp, i decided to do it all in the well to save space. a top cover goes above this to protect everything

and the final touch, i hid the PPI qbass control inside the storage bin in his center console, i wonder if he can find it without me telling him, but to reach it, all he has to do is move his wrist

just too it for a spin on the high way, at 70-80mph with cars all around, and the top down, every single word comes through crystal clear, the basss ounds pretty due to the fact htat hte s2k has a direct passthrough via the spare tire holding compartment into the cabin...
bsaically, this is how i would do a 350z roadsster too, kicks holding one st of comps, and door pods (since stock location seem to cause all sorts of door rattles) holding another set, and send a lot of poewr to them
enjoy

yep .. the kicks volume isnt a huge deal for him ... he might just send you some speakers he is working on to have them fitted. He does transducer design for some of the larger names in the audio biz .... but really isnt one to tear up his ride ... this would be perfect for him

Very nice dude. Kicks look great.
In my old S TWO K
I had a single 10 where the tool kit was, and I mounted the 4 channel amp where the spare tire was. I put the seperates in the doors.
I removed my soft-top and bought a hard-top, so essentially the car became a hatchback....bass was ample.
