found another hole to use. I will post more detailed pics tomorrow. It was late when we got to that step so we didn't get any pics.

Default Joy to the Crowd

Hope you get the same kind of joy from your new install as I get with mine.

I put 6" speakers in the doors and didnt really make a spacer. I took the old speakers apart (removed cone and magnet assembly), made a gasket out of dynamat then placed my speaker on top. It works out great and didnt take very long. If I ever sell the car I'll throw in some cheapo wallmart (low profile!) spekers, so I didnt care about thrashing the stockers.

Ok as promised but a little late.... Here are the pics of how I ran the speaker wire to the door. It will be hard to tell from the pics but there is a rubber gromett (sp?) filling a hole a couple inched down from the door wiring harness. I spent a good twenty minutes fishing the wire though there on the drivers side. The passengers side was a piece of cake.

So now I am in the process of finishing the Sub box. I puchased carpet and vinyl and will decide after I see them both on. I will post pics of the final install once complete.

I also decided that the door speakers sound a little too hollow and am in the process of making fiberglass enclosures for them. I will post pics if they turn out to be worth it.

Finally covered the box. I decided on vinyl but it didn't turn out as good as I would have liked. Oh well I will live with it until I get motivated to try again.

What's the internal volume of your box? How far is it from the face of your box to the back of the trunk?

It hits very hard for two 8s. Volume is not a problem at all. I am not sure of the exact distance from the speakers to the back of the hatch but the speakers are flush with the inside wall of the strut tower bar.

How do you like the XM sound quality? Does it sound close to cd or more like radio?
