Default New Install

Installers came up with some affordable customization. I was pleased with the results.

Default Dude!

I am not much into big speakers, etc.. but that looks VERY VERY nice!!! The Big Z might be just a bit much, but hey, looks good.

Congrats. I hope it sounds as good as it looks!

curious, but couldnt you have had a bit of extra space if you slid that big rear speaker to the side? and only took up half of that? weems like you totally cut what little space you had in half...

and oddly enough I like the dash, I first saw it and didnt like it, then I was like, hmmm wait kinda neat.

Ares & Alphared

The dash does add a certain shock value to the interior. When put into context with surrounding aluminum accents, it fits pretty well. I just wasn't diggin' the standard faceplates most are using.

As for the trunk, it's definitely cut in half, maybe more of 2/3, 1/3 split. Since the 350Z is a weekend car, it'll hold enough of me and my wife's travel gear...after all, we have a 3 year old to get back home to so we can't travel too far.

Very clean install. I really like the changer mount and the sub install. Makes me wish I had done something like that instead of puttting the subs behind the seat.

Default I love it

I think your install looks great.

A little subdued compared to mine---just kidding.

This is so much fun!

Cintel7:

Outside of the cost for equipment the installers charged me $125 for the brushed aluminum faceplate surrounding the stereo and the Z on the sub enclosure. $400 for the Sub enclosure(parts/labor/install), MP3/CD changer install, and install of the faceplate.

There are very few times you get the most for what you pay, and this was one of those times.

I like it all except the radio itself.

For that matter just about any after market radio looks like crap compared to the oem.
But the alpine just looks gawdy, I'm thinking something a little more old fashioned wouldn't look so out of place.

Overall one of the nicest installs I've seen though.

The face plate seems to smooth out the transition of the ugly HU to the rest of the car though.

OMEGATLC:

Where did you get de "Z" on the stereo surrounding
It looks like the oem piece on the back brace and teh door sills
I need one of those cause the paint from the one on the plate on top of the back brace in my car is kind of shrugging.

Here, see?

The Z symbol is from the rear 350Z emblems on the car. Without the Z, the faceplate looked very, very boring.

I have seen many nice installs on this forum and others. that includes the head unit which I think looks good. guess we cannot agree on waht the ugly is because I thought the ugliest part of z was stock stereo. Personally I would probbaly drop the ugly and just think it did not loo as good as something else. not only that it had little functionality. to each his own. but if I had to chose between looks and sound I would go with sound. one reason I CHOSE alpine head units was because they looked good and I liked blue light best. had the orange alpine and still went for blue light. so "ugly" is everybody's opinion. just disagree about what the "ugly" one is. besides I did not want the superficial looks to detract from superior sound. btw, I am not intending to get that z that surrounds "ugly" HU. JUST WANT THE "UGLY' HU . LOL
