I noticed this pic of the Clarion demo Z install. It has a 1/2 din center channel speaker but the plate/install piece for all of it is really clean. How did they do that or what did they use? Also, i don't understand what's going on in that last picture of the rear w/ the subs and extra tv and stuff on clarion's site. So can this clarion do nav and dvd and mp3 and all that?

That was a modified Metra kit, with a custom lower DIN mount that was fabbed by Audio Options in Torrance CA.

The rear monitor and speakers were installed to demonstrate Clarion's new center channel speaker without you having to get in the car. It is used at shows for tha above purpose. When the car is in gear with the parking brake off, the monitor does not function...

I have a Clarion center channel in my Z, and I used the stock Metra kit, with some slight modifications. I will be posting some pics of my new install in the next few days

 

VRX935VD can play DVD/VCD/MP3 and it's Sirius Ready, and can have additional TV Tuner addon, plus other video sources.. This is their top of the line model.

You can also output the video to the rear monitor, and have different display in the main unit... pretty cool..
