After working on so many not-so-easy cars, such as 350Zs and G35s, etc...I seem to have forgoten how easy many cars are...and the Tc is such a cake to work on comapred to Zs and Gs, good stock locations, easy to take apart, flat floor, simply to cut fake floor...etc etc
anyway, enough gushing, i havent dont a Tc custom install in a long time, never acutally, only done headunits before, and this time. If i had my way, iw ould be doing this kind of install on every car , every day lol, one amp, front speaker, one or two subs, simple clean design...the cost and quality can vary, but the basic theme is the same
anyway...
goals:
1. good sound quality
2. fully hidden install
3. classy and clean
in the factory location the customer already had an alpine headunit install, i just tapped into it for rcas and remote:
The Front stage is a set of DLS utimate UR6 6.5" components, The tweeters are flushed into the factory kicks, whcih aim pretty well on axis:
the midbass went into the stock location in the doors via a spacer, the entire door was dampened via Edead V4 Foam and V1 ultra thick, new wires were run into the door via the factory loom.
Moving on to the trunk, here is the normal fully hidden view, the entire floor is fully usable, not an inch of space was lost:
When you remove the carpet, you see a black grill that covers the center of the floor, the entire fake floor is black vinyl.
When you open the grille, here is what you see. A single Elemental Designs 11kv.2 on the left, and a DLS classic CA51 5 channel amp on the right. The CA51, with its on board xovers, is running the UR6 fully active, sending 3500hz up to the tweets, and 80 to 3500 to the midbass, while also running hte 11kv.2 with 250 watts.
The floor underneath the grille is blue suede, to match theoutside of the car
and here is an obligatory wiring pic to show everyhting is neatly done
all in all., i am very happy with the install, sounds very nice, the stock location, while not the best for imaging, does provide a nice high stage and very nice midbass. the single 10 relaly does pound in a small hatch back
enjoy
now i am right back to difficult cars with a dodge ram SRT-10

Hey Bing,
Nice work as always, again wish you were down in SD. Do you always keep the spare tire in your installs? I guess that is where the 6.5in. mounting depth comes into play.

Nice job on the doors, the SD makes it an actual enclosure or very close to it.
And the 5 channel with XOs consolidates multiple amps that would take up more space than there is under the carpet, sweet.

i always liked how the TC has the hidden stereo cubby. friend put a doubledin in there and man its really nice how they can keep it hidden and it is placed at a perfect eye level for navi
I use to love working on my tC.
So easy.. I had almost every bolt-on, TV, TV-tuner, DVD/mp3 player, sub, 2 amps, and xbox.
Took everything out of the car in 3 hours before I traded it in.
