More work.... Trying my hand at building tweeter pods.

After trying several different positions and talking to a few people "in-the-know", I settled on the A-pillar. Talking with Steven Head (audionutz on ECA and other forums and car audio champion many times over), he suggested this position. I tried to duplicate as the best as I could. Keep in mind... I've never done anything like this before.

So the goal was to have the tweeters mounted about 4" above where the dash/ windshield meet and point the tweeters to about the center of the opposite side window.

I took the plunge and cut a hole in my a-pillar. Then, using 1/4" plywood, I made the speaker rings and mounted it using hot glue with 1/4" dowel rod I had laying around.

Here's a couple of pics. Covering and finishing it should be an adventure.....

After seeing the tweeters in this position, it makes me wonder if the sail panel would have been easier/ quicker because it's not that far from them now. But I'm committed.

I am actually going to be relocating my tweeters to the outside of the sail panels in the near future so I will let you know how they sound.

Everything you have done so far looks great, keep up the good work and if you wanna flush mount my W200 for me let me know

Thanks John.

Wish I could take credit for the W200, but Dom (Mr X) did that part. I have pictures (I think) of how he did it if you want to see them. If I remember correctly, he had to redrill the mounting holes to get it to fit more flush.

I'm bringing my car to him mid July. If you want, I can ask him if he can mount your W200 at the same time. I'd just need your console and W200.
