mike, you can take some towels with you, so in case you need to, you can throw them over it, with the sunshade, so they dont scream that just murmur

These, in my not so humble opinion, are the best mounting solutions for the front speakers ever made.
Sound coming out of these has a much better chance of sounding OK then down where my legs are located. With a proper time delay these things might sound acceptable. Some extreme guys SQ put their speakers into their dashes replacing such things as the gauges and airbags to fit them in.
Bing these are brilliant!
Now start making them in massive quantities.

i reapeat, these are ONE OFF!
lol no way i can make these in quanities...i dont have a mold or would i trust it when it comes to somethig this delicate...
molding time on this thing, is about 10 times what it is on the kicks i do...just doing the upsdie down part on the window, takes one layer at a time or they risk falling down...and i built up 6 layers lol...and just a relaly relaly tough location to fiberglass properly, and if you mess up a little bit, it looks ugly cuase it doesnt match the grooves
if someone is truly seirous about sq and dont mind paying, maybe, but like Kiet's subbox, i dont htink i wanna do it again anytime soon lol

I think you mentioned in another thread about comparing your car stereo to your home audio. I am in the same boat. While I know it will never match my home audio performance, I had to at least try to get closer. And with Bing's expertise I think this will be VERY good.
lol..i got people making second thoughts about those pods....i knew theft would be an issue...nobody hasnt mention it and i just want to know that its best being on the safe side while having a great system!
im sure there is an alternative to get those covered and all...

as with everything in cars, its always a compromise, bigger rims looks better, handles better with more aggresive tires, but harsher ride, exhuast increase poewr, but noise..suspension makes hte car handles better, but usually less comfort...etc etc...car audio is the same way...
i am by no means the first to come up with pods such as this for cars, infact, its prety common place in the sound qualiyt world, be it molded off the A pillar or the dash...
but the goal is here ultimate SQ...versus theft prevention. as far covering it...trust me, what ever grille mechanism i can come up wtih it, it will be plainly obvious its a spekaer pod, not to mention a grille set up would amke it even bigger to accomodate the grille
not my necessarily my preference for stealthness or grill looks, but dammmmmmmmmmmmm.....those are gonna sound tight with the right speakers in them. may i suggest a pair of ear plugs to go with your installation. Bing, I hope to one day have 1/43rd of your glassing skillz.
^ The speakers are DLS Iridium's.
Quick impression (kids need to go to bed). I wired them up, but didn't secure them. Some quick tuning- phase, timing, x-overs set per Pinny at DLS.
Ummm how should I put this?
It sounds REALLY Freakin' good. Unbelievable detail and clarity. Keep in mind, I had these speakers in there before, so I'm used to the sound. Just not like this.
I took a quick pic for those security conscious folks here. Unless you new what you were looking for, I doubt anyone would think twice about this:

next thing you might was to invest in, is the dash mat, helps out with refractions on the dash and windshield as it absorbs all the sound going into it
all the sq guys run it if you dont notice haha can pehraps help your center image to be even more focused
