Default My First Install

Finally, after about 2 months of nonstop working on the weekends I have finally got enough done to take the Z to Spring Break Nationals.

Well, here it is... Be gentle, there are still some things that need to be finished.

Headunit and Rux Processor Controller:

Alpine IVA-D310, Alpine RUX-C701 (controlling Alpine H701 Processor)

Passenger-side Tweeter Pod (needs to be color matched) (Driver-side is same):

DLS UR1s

Box and Uncovered Amprack:

Alpine PDX 1.1000, Alpine PDX 4.150, 15" Dayton Titanic MK-III

Battery Box:

Batcap 400

Hatch w Finished Panels:

View from inside the car:

Pics of the door are omitted due to cutting out the nasty Clarions and using those trim rings for the 6" Morels. Works, but doesn't look great.

This was the only layout we could come up with to try and do a stealth install with a 15"...

I am pretty happy with my first attempt at a sound quality install. Hopefully my score at SBN will reflect all of the hard work that went into it. Unfortunately it lacks height and the imaging is a little hard to get perfected, but I am hoping that will change with some mids in custom kicks.

I thought the 310 could control the H701 without needing the RUX? I have a DVA-9865 and it will control a H701 (which I plan on getting at some point)

Thanks.

I decided to go with the single DIN so I could use the RUX controller.

I will try to take better pics of the sub today in the sunlight.

The D310 can control the H701, but I don't like the interface.

If the RUX is installed, the settings can be changed while the car is moving. When the H701 is controlled by the D310, the car has to be stopped and the parking brake has to be engaged.

I had the D310 controlling the H701 for two or three weeks before my RUX cable came in. I can move through the menus on the RUX faster and easier than I could with the D310.

I do have a friend who uses his W205 to control the H701 and likes it just fine.

Looks nice! The Titanic MK-III's are beasts!!! Most people wouldn't go for one because it's not a "brand name", but that thing will outperform many car audio subs on the market today. Not to mention they are fantastic home theater subs as well.

Thanks Street!

The sub is a beast. It is a little too power hungry for my Alpine PDX 1.1000. I can tell that the sub can take a lot more than the Alpine is giving it.

I am going to talk to the people with Arc Audio at SBN in Daytona and see about getting setup with all Arc SE or KS amps. We will see...

I never had a problem with controlling it while driving, do you have the PAC-7 unit to make the head unit think its stopped? Use to have the d310 and now i use the W205. Me, i think its easyer using the d310 or w205 for the h701.

Oh yes forgot, Look great

I think you did a nice job in the install, but I like a cleaner look.

As requested...

Sorry, I had to wait to get a camera that could take better pics...

BTW, sound-deadening the hatch lid was a royal PITA!

But it definitely stopped the nasty rattling I was getting...

Unfortunately, no. The spare had to come out for the sub enclosure to fit.
