Hello SHIFTZ

I too agree. The car is a buzz. I think that the reported problems being experienced are pretty insignificant. If the worst things you've got to worry about are squeaky brakes and rattly seats, no problem. I certainly haven't found these faults or any others.

In my experience, Nissan's are incredibly reliable cars, and I would be very surprised if the Z is anything less than that.

My only beef is that the Bose is disappointing, although I accept that I may be too critical as it is a factory fitted system, and not a premium aftermarket system.

I've never know a car to attract so much attention. I bet you don't experience that in your Alfa.

Thanks for the reply Malcolm. The Z is definetaly a nice sports car, and will surely hold me over till we see the new Alfa GT Coupe GTA
4wd V6 in 2005. For the money i cant c many others cars comparable.

Tho ive never owned a japanese car, in fact no1 in my family has either, and we're all car buffs, so i cannot speak from experience what their reliability or durability is like

As for attention seeking, this is my Alfa... www.cardomain.com/id/alfaboy

Judge for urself whether its an attention seeker or not . From the stunned looks from other motorists and ppl hanging outside their cars on Chapel St on a Friday nite, i think it just may be LOL

Hi Sam,

Wait until you drive the Z down Chapel St ! A mate of mine has one in Melbourne and wait to see the heads turn when you drive that. The 156 is nice, but too many out there now unfortunately. I hope that does not happen to the Z !!!!

The problems people are talking about are really nothing.

Brembo brakes squeek is the pads used and it happens on all Brembo setups with standard pads.

Grease streak on the window is a 30 minute dealer fix

Clunk on the upper control arm the dealer will tighten anyway on first service.

Other than that it sounds like the Oz models are free from the other stuff the guys in the US are discussing.

hehehe thanks for the reply. Im turning 21 soon so fortunately the days of Chapel cruising are behind me. I agree the 156 is very popular on the roads now.....the car has been out for 3 years and is quite affordable. I bought my car in Feb 2000, and fully kitted out 156s r still a rare site.

Unfortunately, same cant b said for the s15 200sx, so i hope the Z doesnt go that way and become wall paper on the roads. I doubt it will tho with the limited import numbers and high price tag (relative to 200sx, WRX).

I read in ur other post the roadster is going to be 10-15K dearer. I think Nissan Aus may be feeling a bit exuberant....70K for a Nissan coupe is already stretching it for me.

Covertibles are always about $10k more. Just look at the Astra as an example (not that you see a lot of the soft top ones on the road).
