Grounding Kit
Hi there,
Quick one for anyone that has a grounding kit on their Oz Z.
How did you connect to the battery? Does anyone have detailed fotos of what they did?
If so can you let me know as I am in the middle of my own kit and I am interested to see what people did.
Thanks
Mike

Sorry to repost...forgot to add everything.
How did people attach to the upper right of the manifold next to the intake?
Also what places did you use to get high quality cable if you made it yourself?
Thanks

I also made up my own grounding kit, wire 4 gauge I got at J B HiFi got it in a very close match to Dayton Blue (see through type of insulation used in high power amp cabling ,normally available in red) $ 10.00/metre. I also purchase the Stringer 4 gauge gold plated crimp type lugs $ 10.00 for 4 from there also. The heat shrink sleeving from AWM electrical wholesalers $ 6.50 one length.
I attached two cables to the top of the inlet manifold see attached photo, one go to the battery the other to the front of the motor where the other cables attach from the other side. I also but a sixth cable from the front of motor Same spot as others and attached it to the chasis factory ground on the battery side down under the intake pipe about half way along just before the strut brace, I remove the intake pipe for easy access.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for that. So how do you find it?
I was looking to do the same thing, just wondered if there would be any difference in grounding from the front of the motor to the battery rather than from the manifold next to the battery.
I will look into getting some nicer looking wire. The wire from JayCar and Dick Smith is a shocker!
Thanks, Mike

Just finished my grounding kit on the weekend. Awesome cheap mod and so far I have found the car to be a lot smoother through the rev range.
As for any extra power, not sure I will dyno and test it.
Nismo claim 3% power increase.....a bit optimistic but try for yourself, great mod !

Just a quick question....
What is that extra tube in David's pic coming off the upper intake (just above the strut bar) that doesnt seem to go newhere??? Ive never noticed it b4, and the US cars dont have it.
Hope it doesnt hinder being able to fit an Injen intake it.

Seems some of the Aust cars had that extra tube and others didn't. Mine has it. What's it for? My guess is it's a resonator chamber. It really doesn't go anywhere so I can't see why it's removal would hurt anything
