In terms of car value guides, they are only an indication as they could not possibly know the condition of the car. You could drive a total of 40000kms of hard driving or 100000kms of easy driving and super care. Which one is better?

I know that early this year when my S15 SPEC R was written off, I was offered $28k after 18mths for a car which new would have cost $48k. This is about 58% of original value in half of the 3 years time.

I was obviously livid about this and ended up settling for $32k on an immaculate conditioned 30000km car.

I expect my Track Z will be worth around $35 - 40k after 4 years. I only plan to do about 60-70000kms.

I was hoping to see the Z at about 70% of initial value after 3 years as this would be close to 3 series BMW resale values. But we will see eventually.

Going by your previous experience with the S15, perhaps you should consider insuring the Z at a higher (read fairer) agreed value rather than market value, so you don't give then a chance to ripped you off.

$1047 with AAMI ( Melbourne ) - although being an oldie ( but not behind the wheel ) probably helped.

Funny that should post this.

I have a CarCom unit and I am waiting to see if I can get it put in. My dealer also has said if there is an electrical fault once the unit is fitted my warrenty for electricals is void!

Interesting is they said there is a claim going on but I found out thats rubbish. Unless its QT system.

It is true that there is something going on with nissan and QT. One of the first 350's were fitted with a QT system and the installer ran into problems. This has been resolved but they are still playing tag team.

Cool OK, I thought it must be QT as I spoke to CarCom direct.

Might get it sorted this week.

Thanks

AFAIK there's no issues with QT. They've fitted several Zs without a problem. There may have been an issue very early on if the wiring diagram wasn't available. My dealer even quoted me for QT fitment. Of course they tried to rip me off like everything else.
